The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between reading comprehension and problem solving in students of the IV cycle of the San Cirilo educational institution in the district of San Juan. The type of study is descriptive, with a quantitative approach, and corresponds to non-experimental, correlational and transversal research, with a population of 52 students of the fourth cycle and a sample of the total population, using non-probabilistic sampling. The technique of the reading comprehension and knowledge test was used; as an instrument the questionnaire of questions was used, being structured for each variable with its respective dimension and item; they were validated by three teachers with expertise in the subject and to obtain the reliability the Cronbach's alpha statistic was used, which indicates that they are reliable.
