In this in vitro study, the antifungal properties of Zingiber Officinale essential oil against Candida albicans, a pathogen commonly associated with fungal infections in humans, were evaluated. The research design was applied, cross-sectional, and experimental. Zingiber Officinale was used as the study population, with 6 kg of rhizomes utilized for essential oil extraction using the Soxhlet technique. Antifungal activity assessment was conducted using the Kirby Bauer technique, with 15 repetitions on culture plates and inclusion of negative (DMS) and positive (nystatin) controls. Hypothesis testing employed inferential statistics with ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc test at a 95% confidence level. El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar el efecto antimicótico del aceite esencial de Zingiber officinale (KIÓN) frente a Candida albicans ATCC in vitro. El aceite esencial se obtuvo mediante la técnica de extracción Soxhlet, para la determinación del efecto antimicótico se empleó la técnica de Kirby Bauer. los resultados mostraron que El aceite de kion obtuvo halos de inhibición de 25,75 mm para el 100%, 22,29 mm para el 50%, el control positivo de 28,93 mm. se concluye que el aceite de Zingiber Officinale (kion) presenta efecto antimicótico contra Candida albicans a las concentraciones de 100% y 50%
