The purpose of this study is to analyze the processes of migration and urbanization over time (1981-2007) in the Ucayali region and the socio demographic and economic impact of migrants, these are looking for opportunities, in order to increase their income and improve their standard of living. Ucayali region is a recipient of migrants with positive net migration. Pucallpa, capital of the region is a focus of attraction for immigrants arriving from the provinces, districts and villages and the surrounding departments, so much so that is facing problems of infrastructure and basic needs of migrant and native population.

The communities indigenous from region Ucayali have social, demographic and economic characteristics very different from other urban centers in our country even different from other communities and etnias in the same region. To know this reality will allow us to propose guidelines that will direct the social policies for the above mentioned populations. In this article we check the situation from diverse approaches, trying to know in a detailed way the reality lived by the above mentioned populations, his failings, his expectations and the future that waits for them from the decisions that they themselves carry out.

The national teen pregnancy indicators still are in alarming numbers, the «Sociological study about the teen pregnancy in Ucayali region: 2000-2012» analyzes this phenomenon in the mentioned region. Taking as a point of stadistical reference the Encuesta Demográfica de Salud (ENDES) we analyze the evolution of the mentioned indicators. Also the fieldwork realized in the establishments of the MINSA in Pucallpa’s city, it allows us to get conclusions about the life experiences of the pregnant teenagers.

The objetive of this study was to analyze the levels and trends of chronic malnutrition in the Ucayali region through statistics of 1996 information, 2000 and 2007-2008 of ENDES, Census of student’s size and the 2007 Census (Pattern OMS). The results were dramatic differences between rural districts away from the urban area of Coronel Portillo, for example, Calleria 19.5% versus Tahuania 75.4%.
