Este trabajo fue realizado por un estudiante de medicina de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad San Martín de Porres, quien trabajó como interno de medicina durante 11 meses en el año 2024 en la Clínica Divino Niño Jesús – Orden de Malta en el distrito de San Juan de Miraflores, Lima, Perú. Con posibilidad de contar con rotaciones de un mes en el Centro Medico Naval en la Avenida República de Venezuela, Bellavista, Perú; para las especialidades de Pediatría, Ginecología y Obstetricia. El documento a presentar cuenta con 8 casos clínicos de las rotaciones de pediatría, ginecología y obstetricia, medicina interna y cirugía general. Aortic stenosis is associated with aortic plaques in up to 85% of cases because they share risk factors and pathogenic pathways. Intrinsically, complex aortic plaques carry a high risk of stroke, which has also been demonstrated in the context of aortic stenosis, especially in patients who underwent percutaneous or surgical replacement. Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is the imaging test of choice to detect plaques in the thoracic aorta and classify them as complex plaques. Furthermore, the 3D modality allows us to better specify its dimensions and anatomical characteristics, such as added thrombi or the presence of ulcers inside.
