The Acid drainages of underground Mines, are one of the main sources of contamination of superficial and underground waters therefore of environment. This phenomenon can remain for a long time if it does not take suitable measures as the passive treatment whose foundation are the processes physical, chemical and biological that takes place in the natural wetland in which the bacterial reduction of sulphates and the oxidation and hydrolysis catalyzed by bacteria, are the most important activities. In the Buenaventura S.A. Mining Company’s Mimosa Mine - Julcany Unit - the main problem is the presence of acid waters in underground work, earthwork yards and tailings yards that pollute water, soil, flora and fauna sources. In order to mitigate this situation, the three main sources of pollution would have to be controlled. With such a purpose the company has developed environmental management and adequation programs, comprehending: The closing of mine entrances, chimneys and open pits, to avoid air and water coming into underground work, the construction of cunetas de coronación1 to avoid leaching through earthwork and tailings yards, the separation of neutral and acid waters inside the mine, and the capsulling of earthwork and tailings yards. An analysis is made from each closing activity and suitable solutions are recommended.

The planning and control of production in operation of the mining area is applied to achieve the goals or objectives, which are drawn up in a production unit of a mining company and this will depend on the type of organization that the company has. The production unit at medium mining level, has the following departments: geology, mines, concentrator, maintenance, security, logistics, medical, industrial relations, accounting, engineering and training. Of which all have to program their annual, quarterly and monthly plan. In this article we publish the cutting and down-filling methods that the exploitation technology uses in the underground mines of Peru. It describes in which cases it is applied, the types of deposits, the behavior of the mineral and the boxes, the development and preparation for the application of the method. In the break within the stope (cutting), the drilling meshes that are applied for each method, the drilling equipment, and the material with their respective blasting accessories are described; as well as the benefits and drawbacks of this method. Finally, the recovery of the mineral from the exploitation block, the efficiency and variations of the method, and the mention of the mines in which they are applied in Peru are described.

The most important activity in a mining operation is the extraction of the mineral (cleaning), which can be carried out by movement horizontally (locomotive, scoop, tippers), vertically (hoisting), by inclines, ramps and zig zag. To extract the underground mine ore in deposits that do not have a chamfer, it will be necessary to build a pike, which will vary in length and the capacity of the extraction tonnage. En la mina Mimosa de la Cía. Minas Buenaventura S.A. ubicada en la unidad Julcani, el problema fundamental es la presencia de aguas ácidas en las labores subterráneas por el contenido de minerales sulfurados, canchas de desmontes, canchas de relaves. Las aguas ácidas contaminan los riachuelos, el suelo, la flora y la fauna. La actividad más importante en una operación minera es la extracción del mineral (limpieza), la que se puede realizar por movimiento en forma horizontal (locomotora, scoop, volquetes), en forma vertical (izaje), por inclinados, rampas y zig zag. Para extraer el mineral de mina subterránea en yacimientos que no tiene encampane, se tendrá que construir un pique, el que va a variar en longitud y la capacidad del tonelaje de extracción En este trabajo se tratan los elementos principales del sistema de izaje, tales como la tambora, cables, polea, jaula y castillos o torres. Luego el manejo y operación de wincheros y timbreros, para finalmente tratar el mantenimiento y seguridad de los diferentes elementos del sistema de izaje.
