We present the results of the analysis of a quipu recovered from the interior of an infant’s funeral bundle. This personage would have been a quipucamayoc, who in its growth would learn the office of accounting administrator in this quipu, that does not present any knot.

It presents a view on the prehispanic archeology of the Peruvian southeastern center, commonly called “Chanka”, in which numerous socio-political entities were developed; Some facing each other, while others interacted socially and culturally. The Tawantinsuyu conquered these territories after the defeat of the Chankas in Cusco, for which some of the neighbors of the Chankas (like the Quichuas), allied themselves with the expansive state cusqueño. Based on the review of the data, the development territory of the Chankas was the present province of Andahuaylas and not the current region of Ayacucho.

The present article presents the finding of funerary contexts found in association with ushnu, in sector B of the archaeological complex of Lumbra. This archaeological complex is the only one in the Chancay-Huaral valley, where Tawantinsuyu architectural elements such as the Ushnu and the two kanchas have been identified in front of the square. The finding of these two funerary contexts shows new insights for the understanding of the Tawantinsuyu occupation in the middle valley of the Chancay-Huaral river.

En el presente artículo se presenta el hallazgo de contextos funerarios hallados en asociación al ushnu, en el sector B del complejo arqueológico de Lumbra. Este complejo arqueológico, es el único en el valle Chancay-Huaral, donde hasta el momento se ha identificado elementos arquitectónicos Tawantinsuyu, como el ushnu y las dos kanchas, ubicadas frente a la plaza. El hallazgo de estos dos contextos funerarios nos muestra nuevas luces para la comprensión de la ocupación del Tawantinsuyu en el valle medio del río Chancay-Huaral.
