Objectives: Bibliometric study addresses the scientific production on cervical cancer in Latin America, using Scopus and the Virtual Health Library from 1990 to December 2022. Method: It is a descriptive research work with a cross-sectional, quantitative and bibliometric design. Results: They revealed the identification of 2,678 relevant articles, with a significant increase in scientific production over time. Brazil led the scientific contribution with 48%, followed by Mexico and Colombia. The majority of the studies were characterized as descriptive and observational, representing 97.5% of the production. Prominent institutions included the National Institute of Public Health and the Fundacao Oswaldo Cruz, and the United States emerged as a key collaborator. Introduction: The accelerated spread of SARS-CoV-2 brought about a worldwide crisis, and a series of studies and recommendations to manage it. Before the pandemic, studies evidence a high prevalence of self-medication in university students. Objective: To identify the frequency and characteristics of self-medication against COVID-19 with drugs and/or medicinal plants in students of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (UNAP), Iquitos, Loreto-Peru, during the first wave of COVID-19.
