Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de la neuropatía periférica (NP) dolorosa y asintomática en sujetos con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 (DM2) y sus características asociadas. Métodos: Estudio transversal-descriptivo de fichas clínicas de pacientes del Programa de Pie en riesgo del servicio de Endocrinología del Hospital María Auxiliadora (HMA). Incluimos pacientes con DM2 atendidos entre el 2015 al 2020. Definimos NP según el consenso de Toronto por la evaluación de 3 componentes: síntomas, signos o reflejo aquíleo. Calificando la certeza como posible y probable según su combinación. Para síntomas se aplicó el Puntaje Total de Síntomas (Total Symptom Score,TSS), para signos el monofilamento y el diapasón de 128 Hz. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive study performed in patients belonging to the program ‘Feet at risk’ at the Endocrinology Service in Maria Auxiliadora National Hospital. Patients with DM2 who were seen between 2015 and 2020 were included. The definition of PN is according to Toronto Consensus, considering the evaluation of three components: symptoms, signs and Achilles reflex, determining certainty as possible and probable, according to the combinations found.
