The aim of this study was to determine the status of periodontal health in pregnant women after using toothpaste with herbal extracts. 80 pregnant women of the Naval Medical Center “Cirujano Mayor Santiago Távara” participated in this prospective, longitudinal, quasi-experimental clinical study. The sample was divided in two groups, the experimental group received toothpaste with herbal extracts and the control group conventional toothpaste, both groups received a toothbrush. Objetivo: Determinar la eficacia de una pasta dental con arginina en el tratamiento desensibilizante en pacientes post raspaje y alisado radicular (RAR). Métodos: Se realizó un ensayo clínico triple ciego, paralelo en Lima, Perú. Treinta y cuatro pacientes de la clínica de la Universidad San Martín de Porres con hipersensibilidad dentinaria (HD) post RAR fueron asignados al azar en un grupo experimental o control. Se entregó dentífrico con arginina al 8% al grupo experimental y con triclosán al grupo control. Mediante una escala visual análoga se valoró la HD ante estímulos cotidianos, táctiles y evaporativos antes y a las 1, 4 y 8 semanas de uso.
