The aim of the research was to determine the impact of pollution from its activities in the informal artisanal mining in the Cerro el Toro and its surrounding areas such as: in the Town Low (CPM) Center Shiracmaca, Caserío El Toro, Coigobamba, District of Huamachuco; Province of Sanchez Carrion, La Libertad Region. The study was conducted by analyzing secondary sources such as technical reports from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Ministry of Health, Public Prosecutor and other public and private entities; site visits to mining areas of influence and the area where the activity takes place.
