Introduction: The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the stages of OA temporomandibular dimensional changes temporomandibular joint space. Methods: We analyzed tomograms of 120 joints of 60 patients aged 14 to 60 years treated in private clinics, in August 2009 / January 2012 Lima. With signs of degenerative osteoarthritis through (CBCT), left and right TMJ were evaluated independently for each patient. The assessment includes: condylar bone changes (erosion, flattening, osteophytes, sclerosis) and mandibular fossa (erosion, sclerosis), ranking at each stage of OA and then make measurements of anterior joint spaces, top and back of each joint in the sagittal plane. En la literatura no se ha encontrado una información específica sobre las relaciones que se pueden presentar entre el patrón esquelético y los tipos de maloclusion. En general la correlación que existe entre clases esqueléticas y tipos de maloclusión según Angle se considera como un hecho, lo que puede traer como consecuencia un diagnóstico erróneo y por lo tanto realizarse un tratamiento inadecuado e inestable. El objetivo de este estudio fue profundizar en el conocimiento por parte de los odontólogos de la E.A.P de Odontología en la realización de un diagnóstico más completo y eficaz, que asu vez resulta más exitoso.

In literature it has not found a specific piece of information on the relations that can show up between the skeletal boss and the types of malocclusion. In general the correlation that exists between skeletal classes and types of malocclusion according to Angle is considered like a fact, what a bad diagnosis can result in and therefore to come true an unsuitable and unstable treatment. The objective of this study was delving deeply into the knowledge on behalf of the odontologists of the E.A.P of Odontología of the UNHEVAL in the realization of a most complete and efficacious diagnosis, that in turn it proves to be more successful.
