Objetivo: Determinar la velocidad de la marcha en una población adulta mayor en la comunidad de Lima Metropolitana y los factores asociados a una velocidad de la marcha disminuida. Material y métodos: Estudio transversal y descriptivo de una muestra probabilística, polietápica estratificada por conglomerados de las seis zonas distritales de Lima Metropolitana de 246 personas mayores de 60 años, no institucionalizadas. La velocidad de la marcha se calculó con el tiempo requerido para caminar ocho metros de diez en total y se utilizaron los criterios de Fried para determinar fragilidad. Resultados: La velocidad de la marcha promedio fue 0,92 ± 0,24 m/s con una distribución por percentiles entre 0,77 m/s (p25) y 1,06 m/s (p75). Objective: To assess the emergency services personnel's attitude towards the elderly in Lima hospitals
 Material and Method: The Kogan's Attitudes towards Older People Scale (KOP), validated by Sampen in Peru, was administered to healthcare workers from the Emergency Departments in three national hospitals in Lima: Cayetano Heredia (HNCH), Arzobispo Loayza (HNAL), and Hipolito Unanue (HNHU). A positive attitude towards the elderly was established if calculated scores in KOP were above 102, and a negative attitude was defined when KOP scores were 102 or lower. Results: Two hundred and thirty five healthcare workers were interviewed. Nearly half of them (45,5%) were physicians, 45,5% were nurses, and 9% were administrative personnel.
