La gran necesidad de aplicar el pensamiento sistémico en la actualidad se da por la vertiginosidad de los cambios, que obliga a no quedarnos en el estudio de las partes de un todo, sino que os obliga a ir al estudio del todo en sí. Mientras los pensadores analíticos están estudiando cómo mejorar una parte de un todo, es decir una mejora cuantitativa del todo; los pensadores sistémicos están pensando en cómo desarrollar un nuevo todo cualitativamente superior.
