In the current world of highly integrated communications, reliable and robust systems will be required to develop the 6G networks. The millimeter-wave band (30 GHz–100 GHz) and the sub-terahertz band (100 GHz–300 GHz) have promising possibilities in radar and communication systems, such as broad bandwidth, device miniaturization, and high integration with electronic technology. El presente trabajo de investigación se encuentra dentro del campo de la teledetección, específicamente orientado al análisis y procesamiento de imágenes de radar de apertura sintética (SAR) de bosques amazónicos, cuya finalidad es obtener mapas de cambios que permiten estimar indicadores de cuantificación referidos a cambios forestales, tales como el porcentaje de deforestación, tala selectiva e inundación de bosque. El objetivo de este trabajo es incrementar la información forestal en la Amazonía, referida a cambios, a través de dos métodos que permiten sintetizar un mapa de cambios, a partir de la segmentación y descripción de imágenes SAR de reflectividad en las bandas X y P.
