La tesis tiene como objetivo principal la elaboración de un programa para control de funcionamiento y mantenimiento de la Estación de Radar atmosférico de la UDEP. Otro objetivo es establecer una guía de referencia para procedimientos de funcionamiento y mantenimiento del equipo. Inicialmente, se estudia la teoría de mantenimiento y los pasos a seguir en la elaboración de un programa de mantenimiento que se adecue al sistema. Luego, se realiza una descripción de cada una de las partes que conforman el sistema, detallando de manera particular en lo que a tareas de mantenimiento se refiere. Se prioriza sobre el equipo o maquinaria de mayor riesgo, además de detallar el equipo correspondiente a la Estación Meteorológica que forma parte del sistema.
