This research work descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional, held at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the National University of Trujillo-2008, was aimed at determining the characteristics of the Self students in these faculties in the study. The sample was comprised of a total of 460 students, distributed in equal amounts between the two Faculties (46 students per faculty per year of study) of which were supplied to all those who were attending from 1 to 5 sixth year of studies without regardless of age and those who choose to participate voluntarily. We developed a survey questionnaire with 10 questions, which contained the two variables to determine (socio-demographic variables and self-medication), which were being studied in this work.
