The use of complementary therapies in the care of the population with drug use problems continues to be a phenomenon of interest to the health professional and researcher, especially for nurses, who provide holistic care. Objective: to synthesise the available scientific evidence regarding therapies used in psychoactive substance use disorders in young people. Method: 6-stage integrative review; the databases consulted were Pubmed, Web of science, EBSCO Host, Science Direct, Conricyt and Ovid, using the terms young adult, complementary therapies and substance use disorders, in addition to the Boolean AND and OR. Main results: Twelve articles published predominantly in China, USA and Germany, randomised controlled trial methodology, were selected. Objective: To identify the degree of depression, anxiety and stress in the adult population aged 20 to 40 years in Centla, municipality of Frontera Tabasco, Mexico. Method: Quantitative descriptive cross-sectional research carried out on 222 subjects between the ages of 20 and 40 through non-probability sampling for convenience given the accessibility of the participants. The DASS-21 Scale was used, which was designed to measure negative emotional states such as depression, anxiety and stress, the data were processed through the statistical program SPSS V23. Main results: It was identified that anxiety-related symptoms predominate (56,3%), followed by depressive symptoms (54,1%) and finally stress symptoms (48,2%). Objective: Understanding the experience of a young drug user. Method: qualitative phenomenological study carried out in a young drug user selected at convenience. The data were collected through a phenomenological interview, the analysis was carried out using the Max Van Manen method. The study adhered to the ethical and legal aspects in force in research on human beings. Results: from the analysis of the discourses, the following categories emerged: 1) In/affective experiences of childhood: linked to family functionality, love, understanding and affection on the part of parents, 2) Addiction in transition: the evolution of the drug consumption, from alcohol to cocaine, 3) Reconstruction process: evidence of acceptance of the problem and the search for help through self-help groups.
