El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la relación entre la acreditación de los programas de odontología y estomatología con la empleabilidad de sus egresados. El tipo de investigación fue explicativa, retrospectiva y transversal. Se empleó la Encuesta Nacional a Egresados Universitarios y la Encuesta de Universidades realizadas por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática en el 2014. La población del estudio fueron 245 egresados de 33 universidades del país, entre 21 y 30 años, entre los años 2006 y 2010. Los egresados de programas acreditados trabajaron menos horas que los de programas no acreditados, siendo la diferencia estadísticamente significativa. No se encontró relación entre acreditación y empleabilidad, en la condición empleado y retribución económica. La mayoría de los programas de odontología no se encontraban acreditados (87,1%). Abstract Objective. Identify practices on the use of fluoridated toothpaste and its relationship with going to the dentist in preschool children, parents and teachers from public educational institutions in the district of La Molina, Lima, Peru. Methods. Cross sectional study. Two questionnaires were used, one aimed at parents (who explored habits from child and parent), and other one aimed to teachers. Results. Almost all children brushed their teeth and used toothpaste. The children start using toothpaste at 2 years old (40.5%) and a moderate amount (60.8%), do not swallow toothpaste when brushing (62.9%) and with monitoring during brushing (77, 6%). Abstract: Objective: To determine the prevalence and severity of dental decay and oral hygiene in children and adolescents in Children’s Villages of Lima. Materials and methods: Transversal descriptive study. A non-random sample of 224 children aged 1 to 17 who resided in one of three SOS Children's Villages participated in the study. Dental decay was evaluated with the WHO diagnostic criteria, and oral hygiene was measured with the Greene and Vermillion Debris Index. Results: The prevalence of dental decay in the group aged 1-4 was 36.8%, and in the 5-7, 11-13 and 14-17 groups, the prevalence was 67.7%, 56.6% and 82.4%, respectively, considering both dentitions. Caries severity (dmft+DMFT) in the same groups had an average ± standard deviation of 1.16±2.41, 3.48±3.71, 1.66±2.02 and 3.19±2.51, respectively. ABSTRACT: The study aimed to determine the level of knowledge about fluoride toothpaste based on the fluoride source for parents and teachers from preschool children. A questionnaire was applied in a representative sample of parents and all teachers working at preschool educational state institutions in the Molina district, Lima, Perú. The level of knowledge was classified into three levels: low (0-2 points), medium (3-5 points) and high (6-7 points). We used frequency distribution tables for the univariate analisys, the chi square test and Fisher exact test for the bivariate analisys. The most frequent level of knowledge about fluoride toothpaste was medium level in both, parents (n = 68, 45%) and teachers (n = 52, 58.4%). Objective: Determine the association of periodontal disease with risk factors in 15-year-old adolescents from an educational institution.
