RESUMEN Objetivo: Determinar la utilidad del Bacterial Pneumonia Score (BPS) en niños menores de 5 años con neumonía hospitalizados en el Hospital Regional Docente Materno Infantil “El Carmen” Huancayo 2019. Metodología: Estudio tipo observacional analítico con diseño de evaluación de test diagnostica, con una muestra de 85 pacientes hospitalizados con diagnóstico de Neumonía adquirida en la comunidad confirmado mediante una radiografía de tórax, se aplicó el Bacterial Pneumonia Score (BPS) identificando a los pacientes con neumonía bacteriana. Para el análisis de datos se utilizó el programa SPSS v.25. Resultados: Las características predominantes son el sexo masculino en un 54.12%, la edad menor de un año en un 37.65%, con mayor frecuencia en el segundo trimestre del año en un 48.24%. Introduction. The metabolic syndrome is made up of a group of clinical entities that increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. 2; which have increased in recent years. Objective. To compare the diagnostic concordance of the metabolic syndrome, according to the diagnostic criteria of the International Diabetes Federation (FID) and the National Cholesterol Education Program (PNEC-ATP III) in an adult population living at 3,270 m.a.s.l. Methods. An observational, cross-sectional and analytical study was designed. The sample was determined with inclusion and exclusion criteria, in a simple random way.
