Industrial effluents have high pollutant loads depending on the type of industry that generates them, which makes their treatment difficult. The textile industry consumes large amounts of water, generating large volumes of wastewater with high turbidity concentrations. For this reason, the main objective of the research was to analyse the efficiency of chitosan in reducing the pollutant load of industrial textile effluents in the city of Huancayo in the year 2020 - 2021. Tests were carried out following the guidelines of an experimental design with a pre-test, post-test, and a control group. There were 3 treatments with 160, 180, and 200 mg/L doses. An optimum efficient turbidity removal of 47.17 % was achieved at a dosage of 160 mg/L without causing variations in the effluent pH.

The application of Chlorella vulgaris microalgae in the adsorption of heavy metals is an economical and very efficient method. Being negatively charged, the heavy metals have a high affinity with polyvalent metal ions. The adsorption capacity of Zinc (Zn) and Lead (Pb) found in the leachate was studied taking into account the biomass production indices of the microalgae. In order to evaluate its adaptability in the environment, a pilot test was carried out with 2 samples: MP01 consisting of 3 L of leachate + 100 mL of Chlorella vulgaris; MP02 consisting of 3L of leachate + 200 mL of Chlorella vulgaris. The results of the pilot test showed that the leachate concentration was unfavorable for its growth; for this reason, it was decided to carry out a second experimental test with a dilution of 1:3, thus creating the necessary conditions for its growth. M01 made up of 3 L of dilution + 250 m...

Tree bark is a good atmospheric heavy metals contamination bioindicator. This study aims to determine heavy metals in tree bark in El Tambo, Huancayo, Peru. Salix babylonica, Populus nigra, Senna multiglandulosa, and Schinus molle bark samples were taken in 2021 and analyzed through Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy. Results show heavy metals concentrations (mg.kg-1) of Zn (195.92 ± 125.97) > Pb (24.45 ± 15.57) > Cu (23.39 ± 11.01) > Cr (2.43 ± 1.13) > Cd (1.77 ± 3.06) > Ni (1.01 ± 0.70). The highest contamination levels were by Zn, Pb, and Cu, and the lowest by Cr, Cd, and Ni. The average concentration due to vehicular traffic intensity was Zn > Cu > Pb > Cr > Cd > Ni. Cr reveals higher concentration at high traffic levels; Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn at moderate, and Cd at low levels. Schinus molle showed the highest concentration of Ni, Populus nigra of Cr, and Sal...
