OBJETIVO El objetivo de este estudio fue demostrar la efectividad del Heliocarpus americanus como adhesivo para prótesis total removible en los pacientes de la ciudad de Huánuco. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Cuarenta y ocho pacientes desdentados que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, fueron tratados con prótesis completas siguiendo un protocolo estandarizado. Este fue un estudio aleatorizado ensayo clínico a simple ciego, para comparar los adhesivos protésicos natural Crema de prueba Heliocarpus americanus y adhesivo comercializado Corega® GlaxoSmith sin adhesivo como el negativo controlador. El objetivo: Demostrar el efecto antibacteriano de la cascara de huevo y cascara de cacao frente al Estreptococo Mutans Huánuco 2020. Métodos y técnicas: En este estudio in vitro, se utilizaron pasta de cascara de cacao y cascara de huevo de gallina para determinar el efecto antibacteriano frente a las cepas de estreptococo mutans ATCC® 25175™. Se llevó a cabo la activación de la cepa bacteriana para luego proceder a la colocación de discos estériles impregnados de las diferentes de las pastas de cascara de cacao y cascara de gallina, para finalmente medir los halos de inhibición mediante una regla pie de rey. Objective. To evaluate the effect of Heliocarpus americanus (Palo de Goma) as an adhesive for prosthetics. Methods. Experimental, prospective, cross-sectional study. Sample size was calculated by the proportions comparison formula for independent groups, 32 subjects being included in two groups of: 16 patients for the experimental group (EG) "palo de goma" (Heliocarpus americanus), and 16 patients for the control group (CG) "Corega adhesive cream". To evaluate the effect of the adhesive, the taxonomic classification of the bark, phytochemical analysis, and infrared spectrophotometry were first carried out at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, as well as the elaboration of the adhesive gel. Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), is caused by coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). It uses the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 receptor (ACE2) to invade human bodies. In December 2019, an unprecedented outbreak of pneumonia of unknown etiology emerged in Wuhan City, Hubei Province of China. The outbreak was reported to the WHO on December 31, 2019, who on February 11 named it COVID-19. Latin America was no exception to this public health problem. On February 25, 2020, the Brazilian Department of Health confirmed the first confirmed case of a 61-year-old Brazilian man. Currently, despite rigorous global containment and quarantine efforts, the incidence of COVID-19 continues to rise, with 3,435,894 laboratory confirmed cases and more than 239,000 deaths worldwide. In response to this global outbreak, we will conduct an epidemiology review regarding Latin American.

Objective. To evaluate the effect of Allium sativum (garlic), Citrus limon (lemon) and Carica papaya (papaya) extracts in the treatment of intestinal parasitosis. Methods. Experimental, prospective, cross-sectional study. The sample size was calculated by non-probabilistic purposive sampling. To evaluate the effect of the extract, the experimental antiparasitic extract based on Allium sativum (garlic), Citrus limon (lemon) and Carica papaya (papaya) was frst developed; it was administered every 12 hours for fve days; and the sample (feces) was collected for parasitological analysis. The samples for data analysis were subjected to the McNemar nonparametric test and Fisher’s exact test. Results. Objective. To determine the antimycotic and antibacterial effect of Psidium guajavaL., at 50% and 90% on Candida albicans and Streptococcus mutans. Methods. In vitro experimental study where 32 units of analysis were included (Petri dishes with strains of Candida albicans or Streptococcus mutans of which 16 samples corresponded to the four study groups of the Candida albicansstrain and 16 samples for the four groups of the strains of Streptococcus mutans, the positive control group (2% Chlorhexidine or Nystatin 100,000 IU) and the negative control group (distilled water).
