Today, balanced nutrition and its chemical composition is the nutritional basis of living beings, especially humans. Goal. Determine the centesimal composition and secondary metabolites of Portulaca Oleracea (verdolaga). Methodology. Regarding the centesimal composition, it was determined from a fresh sample by the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC) method, and for the phytochemical analysis, ethanolic, chloroform and petroleum benzine extracts were used, by the method of Schabra and Cols. The sample was collected in the Ushpacaño – Itaya River area, geographically located at 3° 46´ 49.0” North South latitude and 73° 14´ 11.8´´ East West longitude, then it was sent to the HERBARIUM for taxonomic identification.
