Objectives: To evaluate the factors associated with mortality due to ketoacidosis in type 2 diabetics with COVID-19 attended in the emergency department of the Regional Hospital of Loreto during the period 2020-2022. Material and methods: A descriptive, analytical study of 11 cases (patients with ketoacidosis in diabetic type 2 with COVID-19 who died) and 68 controls (patients with type 2 diabetes with COVID-19 who did not die), attended in the emergency department of the Regional Hospital of Loreto during the period 2020-2022, was carried out. Results: The mean of the cases was 60.7+/-12.1 years and of the controls 52.2+/-10.9 years, with a statistically significant difference, that is, the cases were older (P < 0.05).
