El cartílago condilar mandibular es una estructura especializada presente en la superficie de los cóndilos mandibulares. Esta revisión de la literatura permitirá conocer información actual acerca de la estructura del cartílago condilar mandibular, los factores que influyen en el crecimiento de este y revisar los estudios actuales sobre los cambios morfológicos que pueden ocurrir en el cartílago con el envejecimiento. Se realizó una revisión sistemática de artículos científicos recientes. Los resultados obtenidos en la revisión indican que la estructura del cartílago condilar mandibular presenta cuatros capas, asimismo, el cartílago hialino que lo conforma presenta condroblastos maduros e hipertróficos incluso en edades avanzadas.
