Introduction: entering university exposes young people to circumstances of academic stress (AS), a state of tension that affects students and can cause a decrease in physical activity (PA), defined as any body movement. Previous research has shown that a lack of PA is associated with higher levels of AD. Objective: analyze the relationship between physical activity and academic stress in health sciences university students in the city of Cajamarca 2024. Method: a non-experimental cross-sectional study was carried out. The sampling was simple random probabilistic, involving fourth-year health sciences students. The Systemic Cognitivist Inventory to study academic stress (SISCO) and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) were used. Results: of the 85 participants, 58,8 % were women. 38,8 % of the sample reported doing moderate physical activity, in addition, 90,6 % of the...

Objectives: Demonstrate the relationship between mental disorders and alcohol consumption in medical students at a university in Cajamarca, Peru in 2024. Material and methods: A non-experimental cross-sectional study was carried out. A sample of 154 students was taken to whom the DASS-21 questionnaire (Depression Anxiety and Stress Scales) and AUDIT (Alcohol Consumption Related Disorders Identification Test) were applied. The SPSS v.27 program was used in data analysis. Descriptive and correlational statistics were applied using Pearson's chi square. Results: No significant relationship was found between mental disorders and alcohol consumption. 96.8% present moderate risk consumption, anxiety at a medium level in 22.1% and depression at a moderate level in 20.8% and stress at a medium level in 13.6%. A significant relationship was found between sex and anxiety (p=0.004), financial suppo...

Heart failure (HF) after a myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the most frequent complications and with the highest mortality rate in the population. Given this, the importance of finding appropriate biomarkers for the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of this condition. The review was carried out under an analytical approach, using the PRISMA statement as a methodology; for this, documents were retrieved through the Scopus, ScienceDirect and PubMed databases, where 20 articles that met certain inclusion criteria were recognized. In conclusion, it was explained that the use of standard biomarkers such as B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and non-terminal pro-BNP in clinical practice have limitations, especially due to their low specificity for HF as a post-MI complication. Therefore, currently, biomarkers that reflect the alteration of cardiac integrity, biomarkers of cardiac injury and...

Objectives: to determine the relationship between addiction to social networks and the presence of mental disorders in medical students at a university in Cajamarca in the year 2024. Method: the study had a quantitative approach, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. It involved the participation of 114 students, who filled out a survey consisting of two questionnaires: “Addiction to Social Networks” and Depression, Anxiety and Stress Abbreviated Scales (DASS-21), which are validated with Combrach’s alpha 0,95 and 0,933 respectively. Results: respondents are mostly aged 16-20 years and 54,4 % were female. A high prevalence level (98,2 %) of addiction to social networks was calculated; meanwhile, the prevalence of anxiety, depression and stress were 51,2 %, 46,5 % and 43 %, respectively. A significant association was found between depression and stress with res...

Objective: determine the relationship between the level of physical activity and harmful habits of medical students at a Peruvian university in 2024. Method: 117 students were taken from a population of 210 basic science students from the medical school. To which the IPAQ (Level of physical activity), AUDIT (Risk of alcohol consumption) and Fagerström Test (Tobacco dependence) questionnaires were applied. The SPSS v.29.0.2.0 program was used in data analysis, descriptive and correlational statistics were applied using Pearson’s Chi2. Results: a significant relationship was found between physical activity and alcohol consumption (p=0,004), no significant relationship was found between the level of physical activity and tobacco dependence (p=0,639), 52,1 %. of those surveyed have a moderate level of physical activity. 68,4 % of those surveyed have a low risk of alcohol consumption and 8...

Potential risks associated with the cuttings re-injection process as an alternative method for drilling wastes disposal were identi- fied and assessed in two offshore platforms located at the southwest of the Campeche Sonda in Mexico. Risks were evaluated using the HAZOP methodology, to identifying hazards in 11 nodes. In addition, deviations in the process were analyzed, and each risk analyzed was categorized as tolerable or non-tolerable and providing some recommendations. Consequences derived from accidental spills of slurry and/or cuttings were analyzed using the mathematical model YAXUM 3D to simulate the pollu- tants dispersion in seawater in three different climatic periods. The results of the consequences analysis shows that even the concentrations in the discharge point exceeded the recommended criteria for protection of the marine life and seawater quality, the spill is rapidly...
