In the present thesis, Technical efficiency was evaluated in EsSalud -Health Network, during 2006-2010 period, using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), based on linear mathematical programming analysis and calculating the efficiency indices in eight decision units that shaped the envelope of efficiency . As welfare inputs: drug use, drug laboratory, use of X-rays, and beds available were considered, and as a result of care (outputs): number of doctor visits, number of patients day, and number of hospital discharges.
