Busca definir el funcionamiento del edificio monumental a partir de conocer el proceso constructivo, el diseño arquitectónico y los recursos alimenticios consumidos al interior de los espacios. El estudio realizado formó parte de los objetivos planteados en el Proyecto de Investigación Arqueológica Huaca Fortaleza de Campoy (PIAHFC) llevado a cabo en el año 2017, bajo la dirección del Mg. Pedro Vargas, a partir del cual se realizó excavaciones limitadas distribuidas en el edificio monumental de este complejo.

This research presents some observations related to the Huacapune archaeological site, as part of the preliminary results of a series of reconnaissance of the pre-Hispanic structures located on the Tomapongo hill, belonging to the mountain chain of the “Markawasi Plateau”, which is approached from an in situ analysis, based on a post-procedural perspective, which was useful for correlating, comparing and evaluating the topics present in the area, which contains themes related to a mythical cultural heritage, evidenced in the accounts of documents belonging to the XV century and visible even in ancient architectural segments, which would correspond to sacred spaces yet to be known and are currently forming part of a vulnerable landscape. The hispanic occupation in Lima caused a series of sociopolitical changes, which affected the configuration of the new landscape on the right bank of the Rímac middle valley. In the case of the archaeological site of the Huaca Fortaleza de Campoy, the results of the excavations carried out allow us to observe, in addition to evidence of pre-Hispanic occupation, a set of activities associated with the colonial and republican periods, which are complemented with data extracted of historical documents. Among the identified activities is the raising of cattle, which would have been part of a local tradition around the use of space since pre-Hispanic times.
