Objetivo: Determinar la ganancia de peso del recién nacido prematuro y/o de bajo peso al nacer que asistieron al Programa Madre Canguro hasta las cuarenta semanas de edad posconcepcional. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo, en el cual se caracterizaron las variables familiares, sociodemográficas y clínicas de 30 recién nacidos de bajo peso al nacer (peso menor a 2500 gramos en el momento del nacimiento) y/o prematuros (menores de 37 semanas) hasta las 40 semanas de edad posconcepcional, que asistieron al PMC (Programa Madre Canguro), en el Hospital Universitario José de Popayán (HUSJ), durante el periodo del 1 de abril del año 2020 hasta el 1 de abril del año 2021. Introduction: At least 200 million women worldwide do not have access to family planning services despite the fact that conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium constitute one third of morbidity and mortality in women of reproductive age. Objective: To determine contraceptive practices in women of an educational institution in the city of Popayán, Colombia. Methods: A crosssectional study was conducted in 204 women, to whom a structured questionnaire was applied according to the variables measured. Results: Approximately 90% of the participants reported active sex life, 59% had a stable partner and 53% were currently family planning, while 21% mentioned having interest in conceiving. Introduction: The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines suicide as an act of self-harm with the intent to cause a voluntary death. In indigenous peoples from countries such as Canada, Australia, Greenland, the United States, New Zealand, Brazil and Siberia, it is evident that this event occurs more frequently than in the general population, mainly as a consequence of colonialism and difficulties faced by indigenous communities, factors that are now considered as common throughout the world. Methods: A retrospective, descriptive, quantitative and retrospective study that analyzes 48 cases of suicide in indigenous people from Southwestern Colombia during the COVID-19 pre-pandemic (2018-2019) and pandemic (2020-2021) periods and registered in the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of the departments of Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño.
