The article analyzes in the young university students of Lima the constitution of virtual communities, gender relations and the construction of their identity. The participation of young people in virtual spaces contributes to the understanding of new forms of socialization, interaction and youth subjectivities. It was found that the majority of young people belong to virtual communities of friends, they relate indistinctly with men and women, the themes that link them are oriented by affective values and by themes of utilitarian practices. Likewise, their identity is characterized by being plural, founded on feelings and values that highlight their own individuality, develop an image that seeks the recognition of others and the sense of belonging to virtual communities.

The COVID 19 pandemic made visible the structural problems of our society, one of the main ones being the precarious conditions of women’s work, in this sense, the article analyzes the access and use of women from the popular sectors to virtuality to carry out their work activities and communicate with their environment. The study population is made up of 173 working women from 18 to 55 years of age, dependent and independent from the popular sectors of Metropolitan Lima; to capture information on their sociodemographic characteristics, the type of paid and unpaid work, access and use of the Internet, the type of work carried out, and work communication. The objective of the article is to analyze the effects of virtuality on family dynamics in the popular sectors of metropolitan Lima in the context of the COVID 19 health crisis between the years 2020-2022. The results presented are part of a broader investigation, which was developed using a quantitative approach, the sample consisted of 370 families and the questionnaire was applied to the head of the household.
