Objective: Show the evolution of limb fracture management with the Disposable External Fixation (FED) alternative.Currently there are a large number of internal and external devices for the treatment of these injuries, some, the most publicized, are expensive for our environment. This report shows the results of an alternative classification of closed and open, diaphyseal and articular fractures of large bones (limbs) with which we have been working since the 1980s. It is based on risks and complexity from lower to higher, for their reduction, immobilization, wound treatment, and on the importance of the time of initial treatment. All summedup in a gridded card.
