I think it is mandatory for the master of Legal Medicine, addressing the inaugural lecture in the course of any of the countless topics that relate to matters of public medicine. It is necessary that students will begin the study of this important discipline of medical science, realize, from the outset, the dominant role played by the Forensic Medicine in the stock of human knowledge. Science, facts and observation, using the teachings of all others, whether principal or accessory; contribution that puts its multiple applications and incessant few discoveries has made the portentous human intellect; that through its exercise and its intervention in the administration of justice, provides the most effective means of prudential life, honor and interests of humanity 18; and widening every day more and more its vast scope, realization can be considered without us being branded as exaggerated...

We are therefore in the presence of a case of violent death, an accidental death, whose true cause is that we have to investigate, to illustrate to the authority about the way acted trauma, indicating what the injury has caused the death of Heredia. To do this we have to check the forensic examination of the body, beginning, as is provision for external inspection.

A new era in the teaching of legal medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Lima starts today. Thanks to the generosity of the Government, with the valuable quota provided by the Faculty of Medicine, and with the dedication and successful work of the Commission for the construction of this building, the students of the School of San Fernando will henceforth learning this important discipline of medical science, according to the progress made in recent decades, and subject to the requirements imposed by the continuing transformation of the various areas of law.
