This is an analysis of an ilustration of a little kuraka in Guaman Poma de Ayala’s manuscript, the Nueva Corónica y Buen Gobierno. It is made with the end of disentangle the diverse levels of symbolic communication of the picture. The author knew effectively the portraited man and I employed the textual treatment of his figure as an effective comparative help in my study of another Andean kuraka from middle seventeenth century.

I study here some selected passages of Nueva Corónica y Buen Gobierno for an analysis of the construction of a pseudohistorical tradition for his descendance line. Abounding in details about the supposed Yaro reign of his grandfather, the Andean chronicler reproduces a relation of kings of this kingdom or empire, situated in Huánuco region, an affirmation interpreted too literally in another occasions. I examine here this historiographic construction from his principles of time computation and historicity in Andean civilization and in this chronicler in particular.

Estudio aquí algunos pasajes de la Nueva Corónica y Buen Gobierno en los cuales se puede analizar la construcción por su autor de una tradición pseudohistórica o de historicidad andina para su línea de descendencia. Abundando en detalles sobre el supuesto reino de los Yaros a que perteneció su abuelo, el cronista llega allí a reproducir una relación de reyes de este reino o imperio, situado en la región de Huánuco, una afirmación que ha sido interpretada demasiado literalmente en otras ocasiones. Examino su tratamiento del tema y su posible significación a la luz de los principios de cómputo de tiempo y de construcción de la historia en la civilización andina y en este cronista en particular.
