Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre lactancia materna en madres primerizas del Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal en Julio 2019. Métodos: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal. Se encuestaron, previo consentimiento informado, a 276 madres primerizas del INMP, usando un cuestionario validado previamente (P=0,00098, K-R 0,73). Resultados: El 80,4 % de las madres primerizas obtuvo un nivel de conocimiento regular, 11,20% obtuvo un nivel de conocimiento bueno y 8,3% obtuvo un nivel de conocimiento malo. El mayor porcentaje de madres con nivel de conocimientos bueno sobre lactancia materna estaba entre los 20 y 35 años (93,54%).
