Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre los conocimientos y el cuidado del catéter venoso central (CVC) del licenciado enfermero de las áreas críticas del Hospital Guillermo Kaelin de la Fuente – 2021”. Materiales y método: metodología cuantitativa, diseño no experimental, transversal descriptivo, en una muestra de 92 profesionales. Los instrumentos a utilizar serán una lista de chequeo sometido a validez y confiabilidad para evaluar el cuidado del catéter venoso validada en tres dimensiones, con valores finales adecuado de 25 a 36 puntos, medianamente adecuado de 13 a 24 puntos e inadecuado de 1 a 12 puntos; y un cuestionario para la variable conocimiento del manejo del catéter venoso central, validado en tres dimensiones, con valores finales alto de 17 a 24 puntos, medio de 10 a 16 puntos y bajo de 0 a 9 puntos. The disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 is a pandemic characterized for being highly contagious and lethal in groups at risk. In less than three months, mankind had to fight against this virus without knowing its pathogenicity and therapy. We present the experience with five cases seen in the Hospital de Emergencias Villa el Salvador in Lima, Peru, and we emphasize the importance of the clinical classification of the disease in four stages: mild, moderate, severe, and critical. We reviewed the current antiviral, immunomodulatory, and antithrombotic therapy approaches. Antiviral therapy using hydroxichloroquine and azithromycin led to favorable outcomes in four cases, particularly when it was early instituted.
