The first communications recorded cases of endometrial hyperplasia, with occasional formation of uterine polyps and accompanied by metrorrhagia, were published by Robert in 1846, Robinson in 1848 and Nelaton in 1853. Recamier advocated by then, curettage as treatment of the condition.
