The objective was the characterization of the milk producing cattle herds of the lower basin of the river Shanusi Alto Amazonas – Loreto – Peru. In the methodology, surveys were applied to 26 breeders, the descriptive statistics was used, for the typification, the K-means cluster analysis was applied. The quantitative variables: milk production 6,33 liters/cow, the price S/ 0,86/liter having in production 5 cows/herd, average of 14 has with improved pastures, the animal load of 1,8 AU / ha , the average labor force of 0,08 workers. Regarding the qualitative variables: 69,2% of births were from May to October, 96,2%, performed only one milking, 65,4% handled registration, 100% did not perform quality control, and 53,8% did has a milking parlor. Social – Educational, 50% of the owners carry out other agricultural activities, 42,3% of the owners have primary education and the workers ...

The carbon reserve in livestock herds is evaluated and its socioeconomic and environmental relationshipin the lower basin of the river Shanusi Alto Amazonas -Loreto-Peru. For the evaluation of carbonreserves, the allometric equations of theManual Determination of Total Carbon Reserves were usedin the dierent systems of land use in Peru and for the characterization of the socioeconomic and environmentalrelationships of the herds of cattle, questionnaire for on-site interviews. The maximum accumulationof carbon per herd of cattlewas 10, 07 tCO2(e)/ha and the minimum of 0, 966tCO2(e)/haat an average of 3, 66 t CO2(e)/ha, out of the 374 hectares that make up the total area of the 20 cattleherds. The simulation of carbon accumulation in 10 years at 5tCO2(e) was of 44556, 82 for the highestand the lowest of $ 21, 39. In the degree of environmental importance 60 % clean air is given, as wellas ...

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of velvet bean (Mucuna pruriens) meal as a partial substitute for soybean cake on the productive performance of broiler chickens in the finishing phase. The study included 336 21-day-old Cobb chickens in four treatments with three replications: T0=0%, T1=5%, T2=10%, and T3=15% soybean cake replacement with velvet bean. The feed consumption of T2 and T3 chicks was significantly lower than in the control group (p<0.05), but similar to T1. Feed conversion was similar between the three velvet bean treatments, but T2 presented a better conversion than T0 (p<0.05). Carcass percent and body weight gain were similar among treatments. The highest economic returns were obtained in T2 (S/. 1.75 per chicken) and T0 (S/. 1.73), closely followed by the other treatments. It is concluded that 10% velvet bean meal can be used in the feed ration with...

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of vitamin C supplementation in mid-laying Japanese quail on productive performance and egg quality. Eighty quails of 23 weeks of age initiating the second third of laying were used. The birds were housed in 20 cages (four birds per cage) and distributed in a completely randomized design with four levels of inclusion of vitamin C in the basal diet: 0, 100, 200 and 300 mg of vitamin C per 100 kg of feed. As productive performance, the feed intake (g/bird/day), laying percentage and feed conversion were determined. Additionally, the weight, height and length of the egg, the height and weight of the yolk and the albumin, and shell thickness were measured as egg quality variables. Vitamin C supplementation at increasing levels in the diet of quails had no effect on productive performance and egg quality, except on shell thickness (p<0.05).
