From an ethnographic perspective, through the life histories of different actors—neighbors, caretakers and people who provide different services on the streets,—and also participant observation in parks and main shopping center, neighborhood’s events and WhatsApp groups, our aim is to identify the affective practices that sustain the care economy, and what it means for caretakers to look after the most intimate and vital aspects of another family from a different social class on a daily basis in order to achieve a peaceful life. Desde una experiencia etnográfica de inmersión subjetiva, dialógica y polifónica en interacción con otros, a través de historias de vida, entrevistas y conversaciones informales en parques y centro comercial de la urbanización La Aurora (Miraflores), además de mi intervención en diversas actividades vecinales, mi objetivo es dilucidar los mecanismos y criterios de exclusión e inclusión que adoptan los vecinos para diferenciarse, marcar distancia, repeler e incluso acoger a los sectores subalternos y visitantes de otros distritos. Al mismo tiempo, mi interés está puesto en cómo estas estrategias de legitimización son asumidas por servidores y cuidadores del lugar, al confrontar y gestionar situaciones con un sector social diferente al propio.
