description El estudio actual busca determinar la relación entre la autoestima y las habilidades sociales en estudiantes de nivel secundaria de una institución privada en Lima, 2019. El estudio empleo un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo, desarrollando un diseño no experimental de corte transversal. En el estudio se empleó una población de 134 considerando 100 participes del estudio. Para efectos de la evaluación se empleó dos instrumentos de autoestima y las habilidades sociales (Inventario de Autoestima de Stanley Coopersmith en la Versión Escolar quien tiene como a autor a Stanley Coopersmith y Escala de Habilidades Sociales (EHS) quien tiene como a autor a Elena Gismeros. En los resultados se un valor de Rho = 0,522 entre las variables estudiadas, lo que indica la existencia de una relación significativa, directa y de tamaño moderado. Esto concluye que si los estudiantes presentan niveles mayores de autoestima se asociará con las habilidades sociales de los estudiantes.

The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach, developing a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The study used a population of 134 considering 100 participants of the study. For evaluation purposes, two self-esteem and social skills instruments were used (Stanley Coopersmith's Self-Esteem Inventory in the School Version, authored by Stanley Coopersmith, and the Social Skills Scale (EHS), authored by Elena Gismeros). The results show a value of Rho = 0.522 between the variables studied, which indicates the existence of a significant, direct and moderate sized relationship.
