En la actualidad, la Seguridad Vial en el mundo, es un factor muy importante a considerar para la reducción del número de accidentes de tránsito. Es por ello que, una de las formas para reducir considerablemente este problema es mediante las llamadas Auditorías e Inspecciones de Seguridad Vial que tienen como objetivo principal evaluar y definir los riesgos potenciales de los accidentes de tránsito. El primer capítulo de la presente tesis, toma en cuenta la contextualización y fundamentación de la investigación, es decir, la realidad actual de la seguridad vial en el mundo, continente sudamericano y en el Perú. Además, se define el objetivo general, los objetivos específicos y sus respectivos indicadores de logro. En el segundo capítulo, se describe el marco teórico de las auditorías e inspecciones de seguridad vial; se describe el Estado del Arte, antecedentes, definiciones, metodologías, consideraciones de seguridad vial y entre otros. En el tercer capítulo, se realiza una investigación previa de los países con mayor semejanza al caso peruano en términos de seguridad vial. Asimismo, se adapta una lista de chequeo, que es la herramienta fundamental de una inspección de seguridad vial, basada en manuales de Chile y Colombia. En el cuarto capítulo, se analiza el caso práctico, en el cuál se realiza la inspección de seguridad vial en la intersección planteada. Además, se realiza el informe de inspección y se proponen las mejoras a ser implementadas. Finalmente, en el quinto capítulo, se presentan las conclusiones, recomendaciones y bibliografía. Currently, Road Safety in the world is a very important factor to consider in order to reduce the number of traffic accidents. That is why, one of the ways to reduce this problem considerably is through the so-called Road Safety Audits and Inspections whose main objective is to evaluate and define the potential risks of traffic accidents. The first chapter of this thesis, takes into account the contextualization and foundation of the research, that is, the current reality of road safety in the world, South American continent and in Peru. In addition, the general objective, the specific objectives and their respective indicators of achievement are defined. In the second chapter, the theoretical framework of road safety audits and inspections is described; The State of the Art, background, definitions, methodologies, road safety considerations and others are described. In the third chapter, a preliminary investigation is carried out of the countries with the greatest similarity to the Peruvian case in terms of road safety. Likewise, a checklist is adapted, which is the fundamental tool of a road safety inspection, based on manuals from Chile and Colombia. In the fourth chapter, the case study is analyzed, in which the road safety inspection is carried out at the intersection. In addition, the inspection report is made and the improvements to be implemented are proposed. Finally, in the fifth chapter, the conclusions, recommendations and bibliography are presented.
