Summary:This study aims to identify and analyze the perception of the relationship with parents in young patients with anorexia and bulimia nervosa, as well as investigate and describe the connections established between their current disease status, and relationships with both parents. For this, a qualitative and narrative research was conducted. Interviews were conducted with eight patients with anorexia and bulimia. The interviews focused on the issue of relations with their mothers, fathers and experiences and/or memories about their childhood around early experiences with primary caregivers. It was found that the bond with their mothers and fathers is understood as negligent and violent, and relate the origins of their disease with early experiences as violence at home and sexual abuse.
