En la actualidad, existe la necesidad de mejorar las velocidades en el ancho de banda fija para el acceso del servicio de internet residencial, siendo la mejor opción diseñar una red FTTH con tecnología GPON, que muestra disponibilidad, diseño de red, cálculo de potencia, velocidad de transmisión y extensión de la red, factores que promueven soluciones que benefician a los clientes. Al culminar el trabajo de suficiencia profesional se muestran los hallazgos sobre por qué la red FTTH es una mejor alternativa técnica y económica, en comparación a las tecnologías convencionales HFC y xDSL. A su vez, se presentará una evaluación financiera que mostrará un retorno de inversión y rentabilidad esperada en 3 años, determinando que la red FTTH satisface las necesidades técnicas y económicas para los hogares. Se concluye que las redes de FTTH reducen la brecha digital, especialmente, en los lugares más alejados como asentamientos humanos donde la población nos tiene acceso a un servicio de internet de alta velocidad.

Currently there is a need to improve fixed bandwidth speeds for access to residential internet service, the best option being to design an FTTH network with GPON technology, which shows availability, network design, power calculation, transmission speed and network extension, factors that promote solutions that benefit residents. Upon completion of the professional proficiency work, the results will be shown on why the FTTH network is a better technical and economic alternative compared to conventional HFC and xDSL technologies. In turn, a financial evaluation will be presented that will show a return on investment and expected profitability in 3 years, determining that the FTTH network meets the technical and economic needs for homes.
