Se seleccionaron 2452 gestantes desde la semana 28 de gestación y embarazo único. Se aplicó análisis descriptivo y estadística inferencial. Resultados. Con nivel de confianza del 95,0%, el aumento de peso del tercer trimestre respecto al peso pregestacional fue entre 7,5 kg y 8,4 kg en gestantes con anemia y entre 7,6 kg y 8,1 kg en gestantes sin anemia. Las gestantes con delgadez y normalidad (IMC) tuvieron una ganancia de peso gestacional más baja y presencia de anemia en mayor número de ellas. No se encontró relación entre anemia con ganancia de peso gestacional (Chi cuadrado: 1,68). En cuanto a la regresión logística, el peso pregestacional demostró una fuerte asociación con anemia (p<0,05). Se encontró correlación baja directa entre gestantes sin anemia con sobrepeso y ganancia de peso gestacional adecuada (r: 0,14; p<0,05), y gestantes sin anemia con obesidad y ganancia de peso gestacional alta (r: 0,28; p<0,05). Conclusiones. Hubo asociación baja entre ganancia de peso gestacional y anemia en gestantes en el tercer trimestre de gestación.
