description La presente investigación establece como objetivo general determinar el potencial turístico en el centro poblado Lupahuari, Santa, Áncash. Por ello, se empleó un diseño de investigación exploratorio secuencial correspondiente al enfoque mixto. Del mismo modo, se emplearon técnicas cualitativas como el focus group y la entrevista. Además, se realizaron encuestas a los miembros de la población local; así como también, a la demanda potencial. Entre las principales conclusiones se establece que el centro poblado Lupahuari ostenta un potencial turístico bajo; debido a que, la planta turística es muy limitada y los recursos no están acondicionados. Sin embargo, se resalta la identidad cultural de los pobladores y su disponibilidad para desarrollar el turismo, así como, una elevada demanda potencial turística local.
