H.A.P.E. ejecutó la agresión directa al sujetarla violentamente y arrebatarle la cartera, mientras que Y.S.S.P. y K.Y.L.F. permanecían en el vehículo. La huida fue frustrada por una falla mecánica y la intervención de los vecinos, permitiendo la recuperación de los bienes y la detención de los implicados. El Ministerio Público formuló acusación y, en primera instancia, el Juzgado Penal Colegiado condenó a los acusados con distintas penas privativas de libertad, además de fijar una reparación civil a favor de la agraviada. Sin embargo, en segunda instancia, la Segunda Sala Penal de Apelaciones revocó la condena impuesta a K.Y.L.F., al considerar que no existían pruebas suficientes que acreditaran su participación como coautora y que la sentencia vulneró el principio de correlación entre acusación y fallo. La Sala determinó que la condena se sustentó en hechos distintos a los imputados y en una valoración probatoria insuficiente para desvirtuar la presunción de inocencia, por lo que dispuso su absolución, manteniendo firmes las condenas de los demás procesados.
