RESULTADOS: El nivel de conocimiento de los dentistas en la desinfección de consultorios dentales fue regular con el 79.90%. Las mujeres presentaron conocimiento regular con el 80.5% y los varones el 79.03%. Los dentistas que laboran en clínicas privadas presentaron un nivel de conocimiento regular con el 96,4% y los que laboran en el hospital presentaron el 88,5%. Aquellos egresados de menos de 5 años tienen mayor nivel de conocimiento regular con el 88,90% y los de 5 a 10 años presentaron el 77,10%. No existio diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre las variables relacionadas. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study was observational and cross-sectional, evaluating 299 dental surgeons from the city of Trujillo through a 16-question virtual questionnaire, after validation by experts, obtaining Aiken's V 0.994 and reliability with the pilot study being Cronbach's alpha. 0.798. RESULTS: The surveyed dental surgeons had a regular level of knowledge in the disinfection of dental offices in times of Covid-19. The female gender presented a higher level of regular knowledge 80.5% over the male 79.03%. Regarding the type of establishment where they carry out their professional work, those belonging to private clinics stand out with 96.4% over hospitals 88.5% and private clinics 77.1%. Finally, regarding the time of graduation, those who graduated less than 5 years ago have a higher level of regular knowledge 88.90% than those who graduated between 5 and 10 years with 77.10% and those who graduated more than 10 years ago with 71.80 %. For the associations between variables, none presents a significant dependence, being p>0.05.
