Se incluyeron a 40 pacientes con diagnóstico clínico de edema macular asociado a la oclusión venosa central de la retina atendidos en el servicio de Retina del Servicio de Retina del Instituto Regional de oftalmología ¨Javier Servat Univazo¨ en el periodo 2013 – 2018. Resultados: El tratamiento con 3 dosis mensuales de bevacizumab intravítreo fue efectivo en la mejoría anatómica del edema macular asociado a oclusión de la vena central de la retina, mas no en la mejoría funcional. El número promedio de filas ganadas de agudeza visual tras terminar el tratamiento con 3 dosis mensuales de bevacizumab fue mayor en el adulto masculino, el OVCR fue más prevalente en el grupo etario adulto mayor (70%). El espesor macular antes del tratamiento fue mayor en el grupo etario adulto y en el género masculino. Conclusiones: El tratamiento con 3 dosis mensuales de bevacizumab intravítreo fue efectivo en la mejoría anatómica del edema macular asociado a oclusión de la vena central de la retina, mas no en la mejoría funcional.

Material and methods: This study corresponds to an observational, analytical, retrospective one cohort design. A total of 40 patients with a clinical diagnosis of macular edema associated with central venous occlusion of the retina included in the Retina service of the Retina Service of the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology ¨Javier Servat Univazo¨ in the period 2013-2018 were included. Results: Treatment with 3 monthly doses of intravitreal bevacizumab was effective in the anatomical improvement of macular edema associated with central retinal vein occlusion, but not in functional improvement. The average number of lines of visual acuity gained after finishing treatment with 3 monthly doses of bevacizumab was higher in the male adult, the OVCR was more prevalent in the older adult age group (70%). Macular thickness before treatment was higher in the adult age group and in the male gender.
