El nivel de conocimiento se midió a través de un cuestionario virtual de 10 preguntas con respuestas cerradas, utilizando criterios de expertos y encontrando una validez de 0,8. Se llevó a cabo un estudio piloto donde participaron 10 cirujanos dentistas, obteniéndose un alfa de Cronbach = 0,854 (85,4%). Se utilizó la prueba de Chi-cuadrado para examinar los datos. Resultados: El género, tiempo de egresado y la especialización tuvieron un valor de p mayor a 0,05 y un O.R que contiene el valor de 1. En el sexo femenino como masculino predomino el nivel de conocimiento bajo con 34,38% y 23,96%. En el factor de especialización presentan el nivel de conocimiento bajo con 10,42% (Especialistas) y 47,92% (sin especialidad). En cuanto al factor Tiempo egresado presentan el nivel bajo, siendo los cirujanos dentistas con menos de 5 años de egresados con 36,46%; entre 5 a 10 con 15,63% y mayor de 10 años con 6,25%. Materials and Methods: Observational, cross-sectional study, 96 dental surgeons from the historical center of Trujillo participated. The level of knowledge was measured through a virtual questionnaire of 10 questions with closed answers, using expert criteria and finding a validity of 0.8. A pilot study was carried out with the participation of 10 dental surgeons, obtaining a Cronbach's alpha = 0.854 (85.4%). The Chi-square test was used to examine the data. Results: Gender, time of graduation and specialization had a p value greater than 0.05 and an O.R that contains the value of 1. In the female and male sex, the low level of knowledge predominated with 34.38% and 23.96%. In the specialization factor they present a low level of knowledge with 10.42% (specialists) and 47.92% (without specialty). Regarding the factor Time graduated, they present the low level, with dental surgeons having graduated less than 5 years with 36.46%; between 5 to 10 with 15.63% and over 10 years old with 6.25%.
