La muestra estuvo constituida por 558 estudiantes de las 9 facultades universitarias divididas en 23 carreras profesionales, a quienes se les aplicó la Escala de ansiedad dental modificada de Corah que consta de 5 preguntas para medir el nivel de ansiedad dental. Se obtuvo que el 4.30% de la muestra no presentó ansiedad dental; el 60.75% presentó baja ansiedad dental; el 31.18% presentó ansiedad dental moderada y el 3.76% ansiedad dental elevada. No se encontró asociación entre la ansiedad dental y el sexo (p = 0.2824), sin embargo si se encontró asociación entre la ansiedad dental y la edad (p = 0.0241) y una asociación muy significativa entre la ansiedad dental y las facultades universitarias (p = 0.0003).

It is a prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study. It was held at the Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego; District and Province of Trujillo, Department of La Libertad. The sample consisted of 558 students from 9 university faculties divided into 23 careers, to whom it was applied the modified dental anxiety scale of Korah consisting of 5 questions to measure the level of dental anxiety.
