description La presente tesis titulada “DISEÑO ESTRUCTURAL DEL PAVIMENTO DE LA CALLE RICARDO PALMA DEL SECTOR HUANCHAQUITO, EN SUS ALTERNATIVAS DE PAVIMENTO RÍGIDO O ARTICULADO- DISTRITO DE HUANCHACO- TRUJILLO, LA LIBERTAD” consiste en dar a conocer las características físicas y mecánicas del suelo de dicho sector, con el objetivo de definir el tipo de pavimento, en el cual sus parámetros cumplan los requisitos bajo las normas citadas. En la ejecución de la tesis, realizamos calicatas ubicando estratégicamente los puntos exploratorios de modo que abarque toda la zona de estudio, se determinó los perfiles estratigráficos de cada punto explorado junto con la extracción de las muestras requeridas, se realizó algunos ensayos en campo, así como las pruebas de laboratorio. Como resultado de estas investigaciones se encontró que el material predominante es arena mal graduada, a la profundidad excavada no se encontró napa freática, nos encontramos ante un suelo que no sirve, cuya subrasante no presenta buenas características para soportar la estructura. En base a la información recolectada, se propone realizar un diseño entre el pavimento rígido o articulado, ya que el pavimento flexible tiene menor tiempo de vida en servicio, además este sistema de pavimento es más propenso a dañarse por la humedad existente en la zona, haciendo que se consolide más por efecto de las cargas produciendo las deformaciones comunes. Con nuestro proyecto buscamos solucionar el déficit de infraestructura vial en el sector Huanchaquito, a la vez sirva como fuente de estudio para futuras investigaciones para mejorar la calidad de vida del sector.

For the development of the thesis, we carried out pits strategically locating the exploratory points so that they encompassed the entire study area, the stratigraphic profiles of each explored point were determined together with the extraction of the required samples, some field tests were carried out, as well like lab tests. As a result of these investigations, it was found that the predominant material is poorly graded sand, at the excavated depth, no water table was found, we are faced with a soil that does not work, whose subgrade does not have good characteristics to support the structure. Based on the information collected, it is proposed to make a design between the rigid or articulated pavement, since the flexible pavement has a shorter service life, in addition this pavement system is more prone to being damaged by the humidity existing in the area. making it consolidate more due to the effect of the loads producing the common deformations.
