La población de estudio estuvo constituida por 300 mujeres según criterios de inclusión y exclusión establecidos distribuidos en dos grupos: con y sin cáncer de mama. Resultados: La frecuencia de anticoncepción hormonal en los pacientes con y sin cáncer de mama fue de 17% y 9% respectivamente. El odss ratio de la anticoncepción hormonal en relación a cáncer de mama fue de 2.04 (p<0.05) siendo su intervalo de confianza al 95% (1.12 – 3.46). Conclusiones:La anticoncepción hormonal es factor de riesgo asociado al desarrollo de cáncer de mama pues condiciona un riesgo muestral de 2.04el cual es estadísticamente significativo. Palabras Clave: Cancer de mama, anticocepción hormonal, factor de riesgo.
